👧These days there is a great deal of interest in children’s growth and developmental issues.👦
But what happens when the background of “refugee” is added to a child’s growing environment?
According to a 2018 survey by the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation, 27.4% of refugee children have experienced discrimination and disregard, and they also feel severe stress and depression related to cultural adaptation. In addition, beyond language development, 20-50% of refugee infants and toddlers are said to need follow-up testing in the areas of cognition and sociability.
Among the children MAP supports, there are 5 children who need developmental assessments and developmental teaching tools. For 2 children in an especially serious situation in particular, we plan to arrange 10 sessions of emergency psychological counseling.
There is an easy way to extend a helping hand to children at this important stage that shapes the rest of their lives. Please join us in urgent support for children through the campaign MAP is running on “Kakao Together Value”!
