✅ What is “Dialogue with Refugees”?
MAP’s DR program involves refugees becoming unique and special speakers with their own stories, sharing them with the audience. The speakers engage in dialogue with the gathered people to share their experiences.
Typically, conversations in “Dialogue with Refugees” last around 30 to 40 minutes. It’s not just about delivering a speech; it also includes a Q&A session to exchange experiences. Depending on the audience’s questions, the conversation’s flow and the gathering’s outcome may vary.
✅ Who are Refugee Speakers?
Refugee speakers are activists and educators who engage in conversations with citizens, respecting each other while challenging prejudices. They bring their unique experiences and values related to their experiences in Korea or their home countries.
Currently, MAP has 11 refugee speakers actively participating. If necessary, volunteer interpreters accompany them to participate in “Dialogue with Refugees.”
🎤 Will you join us to raise awareness about refugees through respectful conversations with people?
Since 2019, MAP has extended its peace project offline and online. We met 7,209 readers at the event. This project has been the most successful in promoting refugee rights and diversity. We are looking forward to continuing the project, aiming to spread a better understanding of refugees throughout Korean society.
If you want to be a part of this project, don’t hesitate to join us! 😃
