📢Hello, this is MAP Refugee News.
🤝Where Meaningful Refugee Participation Begins:
The Refugee Reference Group
The Refugee Reference Group (RRG) is a group of individuals with refugee backgrounds living in Korea, established to ensure that their voices reach the Korea Refugee Forum 2025. Based on their lived experiences and perspectives, RRG members share the realities faced by refugee communities and actively participate in the overall preparation of the Forum, helping it better reflect refugees’ needs and circumstances. They also serve as an important bridge, sharing information on KRF to refugee communities and ensuring that community feedback is integrated into the entire Forum process.
The selection process prioritized balanced representation, considering factors such as diverse backgrounds, regions, ages, genders, expertise, community leadership, and experience in refugee-led activities. Ability to communicate effectively in Korean or English and availability to participate in approximately three hours of regular meetings per week were also key criteria.
The 10 selected RRG members bring first-hand perspectives to influence the KRF preparation, identify pressing community issues, and facilitate more inclusive and responsive decision-making.
We appreciate your continued interest in the Korea Refugee Forum and the Refugee Reference Group, which enables ongoing discussions among stakeholders in Korean society on refugee protection and social integration.
