On October 13, 2016, MAP held a talk party on the theme “Humanitarian Demining Partnership” at Won Il-han Hall, Ruth Chapel, on the Sinchon campus of Yonsei University. About 30 organizations and experts involved in demining and support for landmine victims took part.
Director Youngah Kim proposed the “Demining Partnership Initiative for the Return of Karen Refugees” and explained the need for demining in the Karen region of Myanmar. Two reporters from the Kyeongin Ilbo gave presentations on the themes “Visiting the Mekong River Basin Contaminated by Landmines” and “Peace in Asia Held Back by Landmines.”
