🌐 The 48th Model UN General Assembly of the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies Model United Nations (HIMUN) was held on 24 August~! The agenda of this assembly was
As a sponsoring organisation of this year’s HIMUN assembly, MAP ran a campaign booth at the entrance of the assembly together with Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) and the International Rescue Committee (IRC)~! MAP’s ‘Dialogue with Refugees’ team handed out to the Model UN participants Article 14 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which declares the right of refugees to seek asylum, a travel document introducing the “Refugee Response Index,” and a plane ticket expressing the longing for freedom of movement:)
It was very meaningful for MAP that young people in the Republic of Korea took an interest in ‘migrants and refugees’ and held the assembly, and that many citizens took part~ To celebrate this HIMUN assembly, Director Kim Youngah gave the congratulatory address, and refugee activist Freddy presented the awards:) We thank the young people who take an interest in refugees 🥰

”It was my first time running a booth as a member of MAP, so I was excited, but I was also afraid that people would pass by. However, the people who attended this HIMUN showed great interest in MAP’s booth, and many asked in particular about the content and role of the travel document. I came to feel deep gratitude that so many young people and citizens are taking an interest in migrants and refugees through HIMUN, and this gave me the resolve to make the acceptance of refugees in Korean society more widely known :)"
"It was my first running a booth, so while I was excited, I was also afraid that people might just pass by. However, the attendees showed great interest in our booth, especially in the content and role of the refugee travel support. I was deeply grateful to see that many people and citizens are showing interest in issues related to migrants and refugees. This experience has strengthened my resolve to raise more awareness about efugee acceptance in Korean society :)”
