Hello! This is Migration to Asia Peace (MAP)!

In June, when the sun grew hot and the greenery deepened, MAP’s activities continued at many different sites.

The upload to our website came a little late, but 💌MAP LETTER💌 will tell you those stories.

What happened at MAP last June?

First news❤️

“Dear Mommy” Picnic Day

On June 6, MAP went on a picnic to Seoul Grand Park with the eight families selected for the third cohort of “Dear Mommy.” Eight mothers, 22 children and nine accompanying activists took part.

“Dear Mommy” is a program in which MAP provides six months of support so that a refugee mother can choose, each month, the gift she most wants to give her child.

The mothers took a break from child-rearing for a while, resting and talking with one another, and the activists looked at the animals with the children.

Seeing the children’s faces full of joy and curiosity, the activists were moved too. We hope times like this will come more often! 💫

Second news❤️

Linking an emergency medical expense support for a premature baby

Last June, a refugee family faced great difficulty because of the medical expenses of their child, who was born prematurely. MAP worked with several organizations to help raise the treatment costs, and with continued support from WeFriends, Korea Foundation for Children (기아대책) and Hope Wings (희망날개), the family was able to focus on the child’s treatment and recovery.

It was a time that confirmed again that the problems refugees face cannot be solved by the strength of one organization alone. MAP will always continue to serve as a bridge between refugees and society!

Third news❤️

Linking refugee children with developmental disabilities to the Dongcheon Scholarship & supporting children in crisis in partnership with Save the Children

MAP helped three refugee children with developmental disabilities receive the 17th Dongcheon Scholarship in 2026, and took part in the award ceremony held on June 16. The Dongcheon Scholarship is a program of the Dongcheon Foundation that supports tuition (including private academy fees) and living expenses for children and youth from vulnerable groups.

We also met two children with developmental delays who need help, and, in partnership with Save the Children, arranged treatment cost and living expense support so that they can continue speech therapy and psychological therapy.

MAP will be with refugee children anywhere they can grow and dream freely. Please look forward to it!

Fourth news❤️

MAP received a solidarity fund from the Korean Health and Medical Workers’ Union!

On June 22, MAP received a solidarity fund for labor and civil society organizations prepared by the Korean Health and Medical Workers’ Union (보건의료노조). The union builds a social solidarity fund every year to support organizations in many fields, and this year ten organizations, including MAP, were selected.

At the presentation ceremony, MAP introduced its slogan “From Hospitality to Solidarity,” said that its work supporting refugees is aligned with the union’s value of putting “life before money,” and expressed its thanks.

It is already August. Please show your interest in the MAP LETTER that will follow. 💞

We hope you stay healthy and well through the rest of the summer! 💫
