Hello! This is Migration to Asia Peace 😊
We are holding 2024’s first 🍵Dialogue with Refugees – Tea Talk🍵.
★ What is <Dialogue with Refugees – Tea Talk>?
<Dialgue with Refugees – Tea Talk>is a project where citizen participants and refugee participants, whom remain strangers to each other even living in the same space and time, get to meet directly and communicate. We talk about various stories such as how an ordinary person became a refugee, their experiences of meeting strangers as their neighbors, and their struggles living in Korea for a better life. We can get over the language barrier through nonverbal communications such as eye contact, body gestures, and even with the help of translators. We also share tea and sweet snacks.
We welcome everyone who wants to hear stories directly from refugees, who is interested in learning more about refugees’ stories, who is interested in migrant/refugee issues, and who wants to share their own/our experiences of living in Korean society with refugees.

Migration to Asia Peace(MAP) is a NGO founded in 2015.
✨We support the restoration of dignity and life of refugees in Korea, and;
✨urge contemporary attention and action on today’s refugees, domestically displaced people, human trafficking, and other involuntary migration issues, and;
✨ By creating a dialogue space that includes both refugees and local residents, we strive to ensure that involuntary migration leads to peace and growth for all, rather than further conflicts in the host countries (regions).
Kyungdong Presbyterian Church is located near the Migration to Asia Peace (MAP). Founded in 1945, the church upholds the values of justice, peace, and life, and is committed to church unity and being a good neighbor. They support various organizations working for the disabled, elderly, youth, multicultural families, and refugees. In December 2023, in commemoration of Human Rights Day, the church hosted the Tea Talk where congregation members and refugees could engage in dialogue/conversation together.
