On Saturday, March 28, 2026, Migration to Asia Peace (MAP) held its 3rd Regular General Meeting with simultaneous online and offline participation. The meeting was held with a total of 67 participants, including 9 attending in person, 9 attending online, and 48 by proxy.
At this General Meeting, a total of six agenda items were put forward, including the 2025 project and settlement reports, the pursuit of incorporation as an incorporated association (사단법인), which will determine the organization’s future, and the revision of the articles of incorporation. All were adopted without objection. We share the main results with our members and supporters.
1. 2025 Project Report and Audit Results
- Approval of projects and settlement of accounts: Most projects in 2025 were achieved beyond their targets, and the report was approved with the votes in favor of 14 participants attending online and offline.
- Audit report: Auditor Kim Yeon-ju reported that the execution of projects and the accounting throughout 2025 had been carried out appropriately.
- Main expenditures: The largest shares of expenditure were mental health support, childcare expenses for children, and child-rearing expenses, in that order.
2. 2026 Project Plan: Strengthening the Fundamentals
In response to the change in the external environment caused by the humanitarian funding crisis, we decided to focus on projects that maintain field-centered expertise while bringing about real change.
- Surveys and policy recommendations: We will take part in surveys on the situation of refugees, and support capacity building so that refugees themselves can speak up, connecting this to policy recommendations.
- Integrated support system: We will link Korean language education with the scholarship project and emotional support, and raise the quality of our activities by focusing on specialized areas such as support for children with developmental disabilities.
- Digital transformation: We will use AI technology to produce and distribute news on daily life information for refugees, together with technology training and ethics education.
- Introduction of impact evaluation: We will establish an outcome evaluation system and a Research Committee to measure the social impact of every project in concrete terms.
3. Strengthening Governance and Building the Organizational Foundation
- Election of officers: We expanded the audit system from one auditor to two (attorney Kim Yeon-ju and Center Director Ju Geon-il) to raise expertise, and welcomed member Lee Min-gyeong, who deeply understands the organization’s activities (volunteer work and program proposals), to the Board of Directors.
- Amendment of the articles of incorporation: To respond flexibly to a rapidly changing environment, the articles were amended so that the Board of Directors elects new and successor directors (with the approval of two-thirds of the directors present), and the final approval is obtained at the next General Meeting.
- Pursuit of incorporation as an incorporated association (사단법인): We will pursue incorporation in earnest with the goal of registration in the first half of 2027, and will begin organizing the administrative system and recruiting founding members by forming a ‘Preparatory Committee for Establishment’.
4. Holding the 10+1 Anniversary Event
- In the second half of this year (around September to October), marking the 11th anniversary of our founding, we will hold a 10+1 anniversary event that features “people who are together,” MAP’s core value, as its main characters.
- At this event, we will publicly announce the “MAP 2.0” vision and gather momentum for incorporation as an incorporated association (사단법인).
MAP has been able to keep walking for 11 years without stopping thanks to our supporters, activists, and refugees who have been with us. We ask for your continued interest and support for MAP as it moves toward a new vision under the name “WE MAP.”
Thank you.
Sincerely, Migration to Asia Peace (MAP)
